Toronto's first cat cafe, TOT the Cat Cafe, has finally opened their doors. Thesmall cafe on the corner of College and Spadina is a collaboration with the Toronto Humane Society and aims to aid in the adoption of rescue cats.
The cafe is home to five cats at the moment, with plans to get more. All of the cats that call TOT their home are rescue cats and are up for adoption. If guests want to adopt one of the cats, there is an application process that is handled by the Toronto Humane Society.
The cats are in a closed off room from the rest of the cafe and in order to get in, there are a few house rules. The rules include no outdoor shoes (they provide comfy slippers), no feeding the cats human food (there are cat treats available at the cash), and no holding the cats.
TOT also sells a small selection of desserts and coffees. They are open seven days a week.
